can someone please tell me where i can find the cheapest blue laser
Blue lasers don't come cheap. The cheapest that you might be able to find one for is $350+

The cheapest blue laser will probably be $400+ if you're ready for that.Or you could settle for a blu-ray violet laser. :P

Edit: wow, 3 posts in roughly the same minute....

for 200 you would prob need to buy a used one from someone else

Assuming power is not an issue and you just want a blue pointer, a Laserglow Aquarius 2mW will cost you $500

The best value would be an Optotronics RPL-Blue-10 (10-15mW) at $689

There really is no such thing as a "cheap" blue laser. They are rare and expensive, but these are two good quality products backed by companies with good reputations in the marketplace. Buy one on eBay and you'll likely get burned.

I'm a laser noob, so I apologize for asking an idiot question... but why the heck are blue lasers so expensive? 700 bucks for a 30mW laser? That's crazy, when you could spend the same amount and get a 200mW commercial laser. Why are they so expensive?

Short answer: Because they're hard to make and rare.

And because blue cures cancer and AIDS (doh :D)

i think it has something to do with the rare crystals needed for blue lasers

btw welcome to the forum ricky=)

have fun

But, are they more powerful? Would a 30mW blue laser be comparable to a 200mW green laser? Or is it just because it's a unique colour that's hard to make, as you said, and that's the only reason for its price?

Edit: Hey, thanks c0ldshadow =) I'm not used to forums that actually welcome new members.

mW is a unit of power so no, it's not more powerfull....30mW is 30mW in terms of burning. It's only more powerful in the war against aids and cancer (ok ok, oversaturated joke :P)
It actually looks dimmer that green to the human eye.

Imo blue is about 1/3 as visible as green. They cost a lot because they are extremely hard to make and the crystals are made of some rare earth materials.
