I still agree with The Great Gazoo, check your focus first. If you want to burn up close (like 6 inches) then the spot on the wall across the room should be several feet across.
Next, does the beam look nice and bright?
If it's not very bright, like less than a $1 pointer, then I think you killed it by running without a proper driver and cooking the poor little facets.

Am I right in thinking that you opened up the aperture at the back of the lens holder? ...if that wasn't you it would be worth doing it, if you have done it can you get a small dot 3 or 4 inches from the lens? At that distance it should burn easily.

Try dropping the resistor down to ~2 ohms and see what happens.

i dropped it to 1.5 ohms and it doesnt burn im doomed could it i have a bad focus lens
