I purchased a powerlight b50 445nm build off of davidbarrack on the forum. Tried contacting him but he hasnt been online for a few days or hasn't responded. It worked fine up until now. The front piece has become loose and is turning and such. The laser sometimes works but most of the time doesnt because of this. I was wondering how I would be able to fix this. Here is a picture of the part that has come loose:

The whole heatsink is loose? You haven't taken it apart, have you? :X

no i havent done anything it came loose by itself little by little and now it like never works lol

How did it "come loose?" How hard do you crank the focus ring?

If you've spun the heatsink/diode assembly, then you might have knocked a connection loose.

From the perspective in your picture, turn the head (with the heat sink) over.

Look inside there.

Something (usually a retaining ring of some sort) is holding the heat sink in place.

Use the tip of a knife blade to tighten the retaining ring again.

Then add a drop of nail polish to the retaining ring to keep the retaining ring in place

If there is no retaining ring, we will need a good macro picture of the back side (inside) of the head.

Peace,
dave

okay i turned it and now it works again! but the heatsink is still loose... no matter how much i turn it
