You should post this question in the General section, this is "Off-topic" section, meaning it should not have posts that are laser related.

Anyway, a good kit to build a 445nm blue laser is, as I've heard, this one:
Survival Laser I 445nm Parts Bundle - Laser Components Only

It includes all you need.

And if your friend wants to build a laser, why didn't he join the forum and ask?

It is expensive because it had everything you need, and it is of very high quality, and because seller needs to make a profit.

If you find 1.5 W 445nm laser for $115, why didn't you buy that, then?

You aren't going to get a 1W+ 445nm laser for under $100. The diodes alone are $50, then add another $10-30 for a driver, the host and then labor. Not going to happen.

Buy all the parts seperately for yourself, then, and see what it costs you.

You can get the laser diode here:
445nm M140 blue laser diode [445NM] - $49.99 : Cajunlasers Store

You can get your host and heatsink here:
Laser Host Kits : Cajunlasers Store

You can get batteries and chargers here:
TrustFire Protected 18650 Lithium Battery (2500mAh 2-Pack Blue) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme Cheapest 18650 I can find, or

UltraFire 18350 3.7V 1200mAh Batteries (Pair) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme 18350 if you need two batteries in one host,

Charger here

You can get drivers here:
Driver Boards : Cajunlasers Store

Lens and modules:
Lenses, Laser Modules : Cajunlasers Store

And the knowledge how to put it all together in this forum. All you have to do is read tutorials and threads named "Sticky". All of them.

And for Class IV laser such as this you are attempting, you MUST have goggles:

Like they're still not going to ask more questions time and again.. If you give them a hand, they'll ask for the whole arm.. when they go wrong , they'll put it on you.. not too easy to be nice!! the forum teaches us well and people should follow the lead and READ the shit out of it if they want to build a laser..
The I Want To Build A Laser Thread sorta tutorials are still there!!

I ONLY offer a hand, not the whole arm, wallet, and afternoon worth of time. Everybody needs to be set on the right track in the beggining, but asking for help along the way is what the problem is.

I've got no problems helping out people to start getting into this hobby.

I'm selling that laser for $115 because I'd like it to go quickly as I need money for a television repair. I built it for about 90 total using an M-140 diode and a mohrenberg just-add-diode kit.

Shep
