Hello-new member! (have googles)

Thanks! The beam diverges quite a bit more than my 1-150 mW green.
I'd be happier with a less burning g more collinated beam.
I'm looking into a 488 cyan from Sanwu. Any suggestions?

The ones from Sanwu use the same diode I used, but they limit the output power to ~60 mW, IIRC. I think it is because the heat sink in it is so small, but I don't have Sanwu's version so I can't say for sure why they do it that way. The diode can take 300 mA in a good heat sink easily, so it is capable of doing ~140 mW. It has a high forward voltage so you need to use a boost driver with a single Li-ion battery to power it.

I had googles once. Then I went to see my doctor to get an anti googles cream. Now I have no more googles.
Giggles is another matter.

It's your choice which Sanwu laser style suites you.

Steve! HAHA! I picked up some "Miracle Anti-Googles cream" that includes instructions on proof reading BEFORE posting. Worked like a charm!:-)
I ended up ordering a 150 mW "525 nm" Challenger 2 from Sanwu.

Sanwu makes a good unit but it's up to you what color you like but yup I prefer the 488 from what iv'e seen as I don't have one.
