Hi everybody,
I'm from Guadalajara, México, I was reading the forums the past weeks and I just decide to register, I learned so much (and get in love with the idea of getting an 405nm laser, I alredy play with a lot of leds of that wavelength and the ligth is lovely).
I like to build things and recently I get attracted by electronic and I get an Raspberry Pi, searching for proyects to do I found an instructable for a 3D printer using the pieces that moves the reading unit, from there I fount a similar project to do an laser engraver with a multifuncional motors and from there didn't took long to be attracted for lasers.
Time ago I was interest on lasers but with 15 years old and no money I couldn't do much, I bougth some cheap lasers (reds that works on AG-13 batteries) and wonder getting a green one that I saw once.
Now I'm 25 years old and have a job so now I can get money to spend on this plus the basic electronic skills I got. My idea is still to build my own 3d printer, but before I want to try the engraver machine (2 axis, so it should be more simple), but before that I need to understand the ways a laser is build and built a few (for practice and fun), yeah, a little big list to do.
I alredy own a 532nm "100mw" (from what I was reading here now I'm pretty sure it's not a 100mw) that bleed a lot of IR (alredy tested whit an IR camera) and 2 of the little reds "5mw", Im not sure their potence nor the wavelength.
I'm also harvested some leds from a dvd writers, I alredy burned 2 and store the others because I'm not own a safety glasses yet (when I saw the ampunt of ligth comming from the second I understand the need of glasses (don't worry, the diode had no lens so just spread the ligth, only hit a wall and non reflective objects)) but I'm currently looking for buying ones, probably from survival lasers, thats one of the main reason I found this forum.
I think I may wrote to much for an introduction, I want to add that I really like the way this community be, the forums I usually visit are more serious (mostly technical about software development) or with few recurrent users, I hope I can be here for a long time. :bumpit:
PS. English is my second language and I'm doing my best to learn it, I'm writing this without a traslator, sorry if something is wrong and if is possible I wil appreciate if you can tell me if I wrote something wrong (if it's no too off-topic), thanks.
