Hello there!
Firstly, i'd like to say thanks to the LPF community - I've lurked for a while and read a fair bit here before I registered, but I'm very grateful for the (indirect, yet still golden) advice and information posted here by the experienced members.
I've had an interest in Lasers since I was a kid, as a spin-off to my interest in Electronics. I am a graduate Electronic/Control engineer working in the field of Switch-mode power supply design at the moment. I would like to try and use what I know (alongside existing resources here!) to build some cool stuff and stretch my skills wherever possible!
I'd like to build a custom handheld eventually and experiment with some funky optics. I'm also keen to design a new diode driver - I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel or tread on the work of others - just to use it as a learning experience and maybe make something functional that I can use in future builds.
I'd love to be able to help in any way I can - but my laser-specific knowledge is pretty limited at the moment. I do run a decent 3D printer at home so if anyone wants some 3D printing done in the UK, please do get in touch.
