Hello.......sorry this is late. Checking in from sunny Sarasota, Florida, though I'm originally from Ridgewood, NJ. I currently have seven lasers, three red dollar store "cat" units, <5 mW; three greenies, a (roughly) 40 mW Amazon or eBay unit; a (roughly, no LPM to test) 90 mW Amazon w/ star cap (great when listening to Pink Floyd); and a really nice Sanwu pocket, 525 nm / 150 mW. My latest acquisition, which I call the Blue Meanie, is a Sanwu Striker (445/3000) beauty. Fun as hell, but as scary as keeping a tiger as a pet. Need to be a fanatic about safety, as one careless/reckless move can spell disaster. Orange glasses on! - Anyway, I got into lasers back in the late 70s. After reading the Edmund Scientific catalog about a million times, I bought their Uniphase Novette. 632.8 nm if memory serves, power was a super-low 0.5 mW. Got hold of a few first-surface (front-surface?) mirrors and enjoyed bouncing the beam around my bedroom. Cost was something like $215. Ended up selling it at a garage sale years later for like $15. Couldn't give it away. Oh well.....on to better equipment. Haven't built anything as of yet. I'm on here to learn more about this cool hobby from you guys, the experts. Thanks for reading.
