Heatsink and beam question 2 in 1

hello guys i would like to ask about position of heatsink.. does it matter if i will place it around the diode or on the other side of aixiz module..

second question is about my laser beam.. i can see other light comming from aperture like a flashlight.. it makes not very nice effect.. is it possible to fix it??? what cause this unwanted efect???
my lens is clean, where is the problem??? could anyone explain it???

The heatsink is probably best placed near the diode, the closer the heatsink is to the heat source, the better it will work.

If you are using an aixiz acrylic lens, did you cut the opening in the back larger? Were you focussed to infinity? I just tried four different blurays on my concrete floor and one of them displayed the same effect, although not as pronounced as yours. Yes, my lens is opened out at the back.

And it looks like you have some scatter, if it's not caused by a dirty focusing lens, the optic piece on your diode might be dirty.

yes i used acrylic lens with cut in the back.. focused to infinity

lens is clean, but it could be really something on the diode glass.. i saw tiny bit of something on it but i didnt attempt to remove it as i didnt want to destroy it...
but it is barely visible and noticeable... does it really make big deal like this???

A dirty output window on the diode can be a problem. Try a rubber blower or compressed air can of the type used for camera cleaning. Hopefully the air blast will dislodge whatever is clinging to your output window. If you have to resort to mechanical cleaning, try a soft camera lens brush, extremely gently. Then follow up with an air blast. Don't use an air compressor, there can be oil particles in the discharge.

I have that same problem with the scatter on the wall I too noticed that my window on the diode is dirty, my lens is clean but i did not cut out the back yet to see the quality of the beam. There is a better quality around your output if you dont cut the back but when you do you get a llittle more power but with choppiness around the beam.
