I hadn't even noticed that it's Veteran's Day until I went to lunch at my favorite restaurant and got a free meal along with a "Thank you for your service."
When I was young, November 11th was know as Armistice Day in celebration of the end of the first world war. I don't remember when, but somewhere along the way Armistice Day morphed into Veteran's Day here in the US.
I hope all vets and those currently serving are having a good day.
