;D I already built the laser pointer im dreaming off, all of you guys do your search very well, ifailed once in this unit but this time i gained much more, output than i ever expected. just see the attached pic. if you have questions, please dont hesitate to reply...Enjoy :)

the beam you are seeing is actually seen even without any smoke or fog, it represents that the LD is well bright, if you ask what driver i was using, FYI i use the driver with a simple design that everyone posted recently. anyone may ask me in this topic.
 
if you were to take those pics with a 10 mega pixel camera Im sure we wouldnt see a beam like that. Its a cellphone camera thing...

although, if you can see the beam with your eyes like that, that is truly cool!

the beam is near violet in actual viewing but as you observed, the beam is truly visible, but im not saying that the picture is the actual because it is only phone cam, but as you said amkdeath when you use the 10 megapixel cam i will bet your idea that the beam seems to be faded but yet visible in violet beam...thanks any way for your appreciation... ;D
 
Nice job!  I think I may make something like that after my next red that is half done.
 
In your first pic, it looks like you were using a huge time exposure, the monitor is very bright, it's just white, you can't read anything off of it.Thats probably why the beam looks so super bright :P
 
for Switch FYI , i know what you mean, thats correct some exposure may high for the shot, but i want to tell you that the beam is actually visible to the eye when you observed the output, it was violet color, not blue, thanks for the comments.... 8-)

Yea I know it shows up blue on most cameras.Anyway I wasn't expecting it to be as bright as it appears in the photo.
 
any way im working on my new blu-ray video clip, i shot my blu-ray laser in my room with open light and test my unit, so you actually see the beam in the video, just keep in touch, I will post it as soon as possible... ;)

38ma @ 10mw for quality diode life, cuz my last blu-ray was died in minutes when i pushed it to 20mw max, the driver increases also ma when you try to adjust the mw to max. any way here's my new video in youtube, you decide what do you think is the power output of that.. Open your youtube then add this one (/watch?v=asiybCeFMjc)... enjoy.. ;)
