Hi Guys and Gals,
Just a quick note to introduce myself.
I had a laser some 25 years ago - a 1mW red laser to be precise. It was in a metal box and connected to a loudspeaker. When you played music through the speaker, the laser beam bounced around and was used at quite a few discos.
Many years later, like three months ago, I ordered a 100mW green laser from a site in China as a pointer on the premise that there would not be a lot of difference between 1mW and 100mW.
After it was too late to cancel I began reading on various Internet sites about these things and thought that the new laser was a little dangerous being as 2mW was considered safe in the UK and I was getting something 50x more powerful. To cut a long story short, I received an email from the company I had purchased the laser pen from informing me they were out of stock and I would receive my order as soon as stocks were available.
A slight sigh of relief then, at £10 I had not lost anything and forgot all about it as one would. But no, this company was true to their word and I received the laser about two weeks ago. I could not have been more surprised and pleased with it.
I now have on delivery a 4000mW (4 Watt) blue laser which according to DHL has now landed in the UK. I have yet to receive it, but am looking forward to Monday 27th April when DHL say it will be delivered. I hope it lives up to my expectations but who knows.
Asked by my friends and family why I want such a powerful laser, my response is simple. It's seeing a beam of light that I know is pure. There aren't many things in life that look so innocent and pure are there!!!
