Am I not reading the Datasheet correctly...:thinking:
The Operating Current for this 3.5W Laser is 1.6Amps
The Slope Efficiency is 0.6W/A
Wouldn't that be just under 1 Watt of output. :thinking:

Yeah.. that's the Power Supply input voltage and
electrical wattage.
Most Lasers for sale are described in Optical Output
Watts and max LD current.

Those are nothing new NECSEL has been around for a long time. It evolved from the old Novalux technology The old Diodes show up on Ebay from time to time. But the output is crap They are designed as a light source rather than a laser. they emit 2 wide bars of light at once.
That Have IIRC 20 emitters 2 rows of 10 and most of the ebay ones have dead emitters. Here is a video if one of the 615nm ones by the member here Lazeerer.

I don't know, Jerry. They list the 23.5 volts as the diode's voltage. Seems high, but these aren't my area of expertise.

Did u happen to email them for a quote? I found myself drooling over the 550nm dev. Kit but just assumed id have to sell a kidney to be able to afford it.
