Ok, so this may sound absolutly ridiculous, but here goes anyway. ;D So, ya know how they sell those allignment lasers, to put picture frames and stuff up? They come with those red laser enhancement glasses, and they make your red laser stand out a LOT more (I can see the beam of my 5mw kinda. ). I also know that some people use them as protection from green laser light. Well I was just thinking, could you use red laser safety goggles as green laser enhancement googles? It would be really cool to have some sort of "laser limbo" with a 5mw green. You might be thinking that it would cause eye damage if the laser hit you through it, but my red laser acually gets darker while using the ones I have. I guess it just makes it easier to see, but not the other way around. :-/ Anyway, I's like to hear some oppinions from you guys.
Green is already the most visible color to the human eye, which is of course why greenies appear so bright.. any glasses you put on will only make the green appear dimmer...
It *may* be possible to find glasses to filter or dim out most other colors of the spectrum so you only see green(blue blockers may do the trick since the color red appears naturally dimmer anyhow), but greenies appear so bright anyhow that the point is moot...
The main thing with greenies is to make sure you have goggles designed to protect against eye damage from them....without them, much caution is needed to assure you do not get a direct or well reflected hit from the laser
Keep watch of the B/S/T section.. there are quite a few cecent powered grenies for sale quite often.. you'll know what I mean when you see one...Unless of course you already have one
Hmm... I see what you mean. But laser limbo seems kind of pointless because if it's >5mW you might get hit in the eye, so you would need safety googles, but then you couln't see the beam. I guess you'd just have to go under right after smoke puffs. Oh well, it seemed like a good idea. Thanks anyway.
