So I recently purchased one of rhd's Soviet Sisters and one of the Ancient Light hosts.

They arrived today and I must say I am very pleased with his packaging. The package was opened and inspected by Australian Customs but nothing was removed. :D

I am buying a new camera tomorrow so will save pictures until then so I can do it justice.

EDIT: PHOTOS! (Larger sizes available, just click the photo)

Compared to my O-Like waterproof host:

I also took a shot of her with her top off :shhh:

My laser box is starting to get a little full. I'm going to need to find a more permanent storage solution for these guys:

Woot, a Soviet Sister was able to arrive in Aus without a hitch! Bravo

I wish I could experience one of RHD's unique and amazing builds, but unfortunately I am in the one Country in the world he won't ship to... :(

Can't you just drive to him and pick one up? Or is it a Canada-wide sale ban?

I am yet to fire this up... I live a block away from an airport (not major but still I'm wary)

Whoa I'm in the same situation as you residence-wise. The runway is a good strong stone's throw (okay, football kick) away from me.

Canadian can't sell to Canadians anymore :/ No exceptions.

ElectroMagneticFreak: Oops, RHD, I seemed to have dropped some money

RHD: Fancy that! I seem to have gently placed a laser on the ground right beside the money!

ElectroMagneticFreak: Well I don't remember who misplaced what!

RHD: You take the laser, good sir, I'll take the money!

ElectroMagneticFreak: Jolly good, eh?

Can't wait to see you build something in that ancient light host.

I've been fascinated by those style hosts since he posted his build. Something about the old and new aspect of it I guess.

The anachronism of it attracted me to it initially.

I have beautiful plans for this host. Secret plans :shhh:

I've bought a few similar 50s to 70s style flashlights and will be turning them into 1000+ lumen superlights... instead of lasers, but yeah. Old flashlights have charm. Besides, one of mine has silver plating on the reflector... which has since tarnished like hell :/
