Ordered from styropyro. It's a 34 mw 473 DPPS. The divergence without correct is horrible around 8 Mrad. I was sent corrective optics and I have some of my own a 8x monocular or 10x binocular fixes it. but I feel these pictures are kinda cool.

473nm blew me away despite having a 9mm 445 diode I knew 445 wasn't close to blue when i saw how the dot looked royal blueish and the reflections like a cross between 405 and blue. It really is indigo.

For the day shots I used some fog/smoke to make the beam like 10 times brighter. My DSLR was turned to auto with no flash for the day ones.

The night was manual exposure with an auto white balance.

The first is what I see except the beam is just a bit brighter in the picture.

The 2nd is just a long exposure 20 secs and higher iso.

I have to say 473nm is really growing on me. Somehow my DSLR has trouble showing it properly in darkness though.

Edit: alot more and Better higher res images on my imgur album http://imgur.com/a/W7kIH

Very nice! 473 really is a beautiful color, I had the same feeling when I first turned on my 473 ;)

Great laser you got, I really like those labby lasers. :yh:

I think the same, my 450nm doesn't look blue, is more purplish, I only see it blue when at high power.

Enjoy!

Okay so this cannon T3i seems to not pick up lasers that good in terms of true color.
after i posted the first set of pics I got the beam to be focused like a regular laser with 10x50 binos yet I had to change the exposure or iso to get a beam shot despite the beam being visible to me from the side. Anyway I even bounced it off a mirror and sent it past the laser and compared it to a green pointer. They both were about the same size both beam and dot. I just took a test picture today with my 14.1 mega pixel Panasonic DMC-ZS19 and it looked much more closer as I see 473nm as but a with a huge drop in quality vs my DSLR. I'm letting it charge since i haven't charged it in a year and bat was zero bars after a few pics. I have magic lantern installed and can set the color temp of the white balance and change RGB sensitivlity values. Maybe that will work. anyone have to do that with a t3i to get more accurate shots in terms of color? It seems under sensitive to lower powered lasers.

Anyway here are the corrected beam shots.
sucks the attachments are so small as i had to cut them down to 13% size in paint.

I made a separate imgur gallery so you can see the difference.

473 with optics fixed - Album on Imgur
the lens flare from the pic of the dot really reminds me of the Pleiades.

I did have to expose it half the time to get those bright beams.
vs the unfixed beam.

Next i'm gonna test it down a hall as it's probably still too cold for a DPSS to do it outside now.

Great beam shots! :yh:

The 473nm looks very wonderful, maybe some day I will have the opportunity to see one working.

Just got some more accurate pics color wise.

I managed to get these with my non DSLR and this is alot closer to what 473nm looks like. It lights up my room like that but 1/3 or so as bright in the full room pic. There wasn't any binoculars on it. the other 2 are from a fixed beam. It was hell to take those 2 since there was no manual focus and these are the only 2 good ones I got from a fixed beam.I had to over expose that one since i took it by hand the auto focus kept getting confused from a distance . But this is how 473nm really looks. kinda reminds me of the color of the radio shack jumbo blue leds. They turned cyan when i overdrove one so they must peak close to 465-480nm.

I just saw this thread...I'm glad you like the laser! :D That was one of the best B+W that I have messed with. 473nm is a really nice color for lasers.

Wait until you get into yellow and orange lasers  but yes 473nm looks amazing :)

I can't even imagine a 609 or 611 nm those must look so strange.
589 is easy to imagine cause we have yellow LPS street lights by my house.

but yeah a 589nm is what I kinda wanna get next since it's about as bright as a 532.

I'm just weary of Dragonlasers after some of the stuff I read here and they're the only ones that'll ship to the US.

It reminds me of a sunset. It's pretty amazing to see

I know I've posted pics up before, somewhere on here lol

Check this out, I've compared it to some of my lasers & the color is pretty straight on to what I see :)

Not bad. But I don't think it shows the orange band well enough- orange has this kind of glow to it, I guess if it was a flat color that would be pretty accurate. But I guess the closest thing I can think of would be a sunset

532nm is pretty spot on to me, 405nm is pretty close (a little too vibrant to me), 650nm is fairly spot on too

Nice. Those B+W Tek 473s are nice little lasers. The one I have has terrible divergence but the color is still amazing. Can't complain for the price I paid.

If you think 473 is amazing 488 will knock your socks off and you should probably sit down for 589 and 594. ;)

If anyone else is having trouble imagining what a color looks like just shine some light through a prism. You will probably be able to estimate what the color looks like based on the rainbow and other lasers.
