I got a EEEpc! :D

After seeing they can have up to 7 hours battery life, I said to myself I NEED one! :D

The specs:
1.6Ghz Intel Atom processor
1GB DDR2 RAM
10" Screen (I believe)
160GB HD
Built in wireless, camera, SD card reader
and the best part, 5 hour battery life! :D

Compared to my old laptop. The funny thing is, this EEEpc has better specs than the bulky thing next to it! :D

I made this post on it, and typing takes a little getting used to, since the keys are significantly smaller. This thing is about the size of a peice of A4 paper when opened right out.

I like it! :D

I saw the touchscreen mod, and that would be DAMN cool, though I dont think I wanna blow my warranty a few days after buying it :-X

The touchscreen mod kit I saw was for the 701 model, I have the 900HA model, so i'm not sure if it will work.

I sell those at my work... We're an ASUS retailer so I get a discount on them  :D

I keep getting the urge to buy one, especially with all the info out on hacking them...

I just can't justify the expense (even at wholesale cost) for what really amounts to a toy more than anything... :-/

cool!

how much for the 900 model?

pS: yeah....i'd only buy it to watch videos (not pr0n, lol) while i'm travelling 6hrs. to the beach :)

You'd all probably know this, but it doesnt have a CD drive at all, so you's have to download everything, or get an external one/share it over the network etc.

This one ran me about $530AUD on discount.

dude thats freaky... i have the same laptop you do. (the acer)
i've thrown mine across the room and dropped it many times. the things indestructable :D

i want an eee too. or that new acer "one" which is similar to the eee

Hahaha, ive had that acer for about 4 or 5 years now, its gone thru some rough times, and showing it!

It still works OK, so i am still keeping and using it, but I needed something newer :D

One friend of mine got the 900 (4gb sd hdd with linux, so 512mb ram)

damn it is really HARD to get accustomed to writing on that little thing!

i didn't like the fact that there was NO desktop in that linpus suite, but wth, he bought it for 200 dollars :P

BTW, it is amazing how it can pick up wireless signals so well
