are any of these glasses good for green 125 mw or red 2oo mw lasers ?
 





NOPE ! Spend the $40 on quality laser goggles - you will thank me when you are able to read more posts ;)

Agreed - sorry for my omission :( They ARE listed at that link, but they are definitely not the bargain basement ones I believe were referred to.
 
Glendale is really top-o-the-line. We do provide Glendale protective wear but it is by no means cheap. Caltech purchased 11 Glendale YAG glasses for their gravity wave interferometer and paid a ton for them. But, they needed the best. The only thing more expensive would have been the dielectric YAG lenses Glendale offers. That would have been about $6100.00 for 11 pair.
 
THE REASON I WANT TO USE THIS COMPANY EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE EXPENSIVE IS BECAUSE I HAVE A CREDIT TO BURN UP
 
Here's the specs on the 31-40135 the only pair that may provide some protection for red depending on your output power:

The Glendale's in the link you refer to are great LaserShields and Graingers is a good solid company.

I would NOT trust my eyes to a cheap $40.00 pair of Chinese made LaserShields that you don't even know who actually makes them, other than maybe a reseller's Logo on them, let alone come with any kind of Certifications.

Surely ones eyesight is worth more than $40.00 ::)

You can get the Glendales from Graingers or you can contact FrothyChimp on this Forum and he will hook you up with a quality certified pair that you can be confident will protect your eyesight.

Heck just one visit to an eye doctor will cost far more than those inferior $40.00 cheap LaserSheilds, think about it; your eyes are not something you want to damage or gamble with.

Think about it.

I almost forgot to mention to you that the prices you see for Graingers is not the real price, rather those prices are the full retail prices, which you will pay IF you don't have an account with them.  Depending on the total yearly volume of your purchases with Graingers and the type of business you are in, end-user, reseller, etc you could get them for about 30% cheaper than what you see posted on their Internet site.  They send you a CD every year which you load on your computer and then put in your account and pricing code and it runs for a few minutes and then displays the actual prices with the discounts applied that your company gets, those prices can change year to year depending on your volume with them. If you don't own your own company, check with your employer's purchasing department, chances are they have an account with them and can probably order them for you and you might even get a step discount.
