This ad says these are 1W and are a different part number than the 500-700mw Sharp 520's
Has anyone tested one yet ?
I don't know how hard these can be driven, but I expect this is curtains for the old ndg7475 when these sell new for 40 bucks.

It would be nice if they could be overdriven to 2W, but even better would be if the single mode 300mw 520's ( GH0523AD2G ) can also be overdriven, but we shall see, some can be and some..... not so much. I have a couple of the single modes ordered, someone should test this multi mode 520nm.

EDIT: The 300mw 520's are also multi mode but likely with a smaller emitter size, the Sharp data sheet reflects the same.

I have the NUGM06 diodes which do well over 2 watts but they are "g-ball" diodes... However, I've finally found a source for the diode caps and will hopefully have those soon.

/take my money now meme

So what is the difference between the GH05C01A9G and this GH05C01B9G other than the price ?

The 1A9G is the old 500-700mw that we push to 1W and this 1B9G looks very similar on the data sheet except 1400ma suggests it's stronger by some amount, although I can't find the 1A2G data at Sharp.

Perhaps the A series were a pre-release/Alpha version or not intended for public sale kind of like the NUBM44's. I've still got a few of the A series remaining but I will certainly be getting the B ones next.
