GB: IR Filtered 250mW+ Green Lasers - (CLOSED)

Honestly, this beam is better suited for just painting the room or sky green. I did some experimenting with mine to see how well it burns, and found that even at 4' distance, a black tipped match took about 3 or 4 seconds to ignite.

It is really hot on the skin, and I'm sure it would do well with stuff like plastic, tape and balloons. But it doesn't compare that well to the thin beam, tight dot burners.

But visually, this thing is a giant light saber! 8-)

P.S. It kind of feels like maybe the people on the list might of lost interest?? I'll give it a couple of weeks max, and if we don't have at least 6 buyers, then I will refund the people who have paid...

Jay, put me up for one.

I'll pay you as soon as I get the money.

I hope we get to 6 ppl.

(Maybe if we published spammed it a little more around the forum ;))

Re: GB: IR Filtered 250mW+ Green Lasers - Good Pri

Well, that's one paid and two others who have told me they will pay. Only three more needed...

This may happen after all!

if we can't get the six, maybe Susie would be willing to go back to 3 or four. Still these are great lasers at unbeatable prices.

I'll give this another week or so and then I will talk to her about that before I refund your payment...

Re: GB: IR Filtered 250mW+ Green Lasers - Good Pri

Jayrob, can you take me off the list. I would love to buy it (in fact, im going to), but im currently broke, and wont have any money till the 2nd or 3rd week of January.

Damn school expenses...

Re: GB: IR Filtered 250mW+ Green Lasers - Good Pri

Will do...

Re: GB: IR Filtered 250mW+ Green Lasers - Good Pri

Update:It looks like the people that had first shown interest for one reason or another have changed their mind. So I will be closing this Group Buy.

No harm done! :)

I understand that the GB is closed but I did have a question regarding the beam specs of the O-like. If Susie guarantees the output and beam specs why is the beam so much wider than the RPL? The RPL is 1.4-1.5mm while the O-like is stated to be 1.2 at the aperture. Has O-like updated/improved the beam specs or are these specs, regarding the beam size and divergence just not realistic? It's nice to see that the output was right on!

Thanks for the help.

Not sure why they have a 'fat' beam. But I have tested 3 different ones, and they all had the fat beam...

I don't know enough about DPSS lasers to really give a quality answer, but I do know that the RPL is a completely different animal.

It is a C-Mount pump diode for one thing. And there is also a protection circuit built into the RPL so you don't have to worry about over discharging the unprotected batteries.

Also, the RPL tail cap is quite a work of art. My new one has 15 different settings. Not just a pot in there either. But a series of resistors with adjuster. I'm sure that the crystals and alignment are also what makes the RPL so awesome. Expensive too. But you get what you pay for.

That said, I am happy with the price I paid for the O-like laser. Susie has said that she will sell them to individuals the last time I talked to her.

The final lens can be focused, but the design is not a focusable host. The final lens gets glued in place at optimal focus...

(This post contradicts another but...)

I'm actually fairly sure that viasho makes this laser. Im not totally positive but it looks to be a viasho clone. I am almost positive that o-like doesnt make it.
