well, they e-mailed me again, and said the order has been processed, and the boards are being manufactured. they gave me the order # too. what I like about these guys is they ask you to pay AFTER the boards are assembled and OK'ed.

I also received all the parts for the assembled boards. those who bought pots will get them, and do NOT buy any more, because I am sold out.

those who didnt buy pots have 2 options:
1: solder a wire between the holes, and finalize the circuit.
2: I leave the holes empty and let you insert your own pot.

yes, a square vertical pot. you could use any vertical pot, but I don't think a horizontal pot will fit.
 
Hi Guys here is the components list for this board from Futurlec, it can be use in similar setup as well.

In this configuration, use a 100Ohm Pot and one Resistor of your choice of LD, 4.7Ohm for Open Can or Phazor, 56Ohm for Blu-Ray or low power Red.

Please don't turn the 1/2 Watt Pot below 5Ohm.

Formula to calculate parallel resistance

(R1xR2) / (R1+R2)

Red LD range 275mA~520mA
100Ohm||R4.7Ohm = 4.5Ohm 1.25V/4.5Ohm=275mA
5Ohm||R4.7Ohm = 2.4Ohm 1.25v/2.4Ohm=520mA

Blu-Ray LD range 35mA~270mA
100Ohm||R56Ohm = 36Ohm 1.25V/36Ohm=35mA
5Ohm||R56Ohm = 4.6Ohm 1.25V/4.6Ohm=270mA

The LM1117T-Adj is a low Drop-Out regulator, 0.9V minimum and 1.1V maximum for this setup. I am pretty sure it's setup the same way as LM317T, but I have yet used one myself.

that regulator will not work unless you test it out. for example, we don't know the refV, so we cant calculate what resistance = what mA. I havent looked at the data sheet yet, but this board was designed for These components: (attached)

im looking over the datasheet right now....

looks like the refvoltage is the same as the LM317T... so the resistors are the same. 33ohms for bluray, 3ohms for open can, and 5ohms for 16x red (senkat/stonetek)

UPDATE

Okay, my order was in line, and its finally our turn!!! They took my payment, and started manufacturing the boards!

I have all of the packaging/labels + all of the parts for the assembled boards ready to go! I am just waiting on the boards themselves. Once they get here, Ill pop'em into the packaging, (and assemble the boards that paid for assembly), and then Ill run over to the post office and mail em out. The company gave me an estimated completion date of 1 week. So, if they dont finish earlier, the boards should be done by the 27th. Then its postage from AU. To be safe, Ill say these should be out by the 3rd of april.

lets see what happens.

I'm also in AU does that mean they have to be sent to the US and the back? Amk can you pm me the company you are using because i need to get some boards printed and cant find anything local to me.
 
yes, They get shipped to me, then I repackage and stuff, then they get sent all the way back...

it sounds painful, but dont worry, this should be over soon!

I received the LM1117T-Adj from Futurelec, and yes it works, and is configured the same way as LM317T.

Here are the test results:

Blu-Ray
40mA Dropout Voltage 0.9V + 1.25v VRef = 2.15v Total Dropout voltage
This allows you to use 2x 3.6v rechargeable batteries to power Blu-Ray. ;)

RED
416mA Dropout Voltage 1.1v + 1.25v VRef = 2.35v Total Dropout Voltage
 
is there any way to put a voltage thing(dont know what its called) sso that this will work for a red diode on 3 AAA's? and what is the time estimate so far? thanks
 
The boards have been shipped from AU.

standard foreign shipment wait time: 7-10 days (basically same speed as DX shipping)
