A physicist at the University of California, Riverside, has performed calculations showing hollow spherical bubbles filled with a gas of positronium atoms are stable in liquid helium.

When I was teenager (80's), I did an independent study program at OSU's nuclear reactor. The first project I proposed was a gamma laser. The professors and others immediately shot down the idea. Some even became angry that I even suggested it. Years later I found out that this conncept was part of some secret government stuff.

doubt it would be effective as it would cause breakdown in the air so severe it would destroy the device.
