Hope i am posting this in the right thread.
This is just a thought , would it be possible to convert a dvd spindle motor into a galvo. This motor from what i can gather on the internet is a brushless dc motor , winding stationary and magnet moving. This motor has 9 coils.
if we rewire this so that 6 coils act as holding coils , and then play with the current in the other 3 coils to give movement in either direction. this spindle motor also incorporate 3 hall effect sensors (maybe it would be possible to use them to detect the position ) . Sorry for the bad writing , am new to this. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
