G3 Lens??? Anyone Know What That Is?

Haha yeah in your scenario the 3-element would be the obvious choice. I dont think my scenario will have THAT much of a difference in divergence. Do you know of any shops that would have a LMP and would probably let a customer use it real quick?

No i don't.

In all my calcucations 3 element gives 0.25 lower divergence than g7.
I'd guess with g7 u would get like 300-500mw more power than 3 element with that laser.
 
Get the 10x BE and the g2. Divergence out of the g2, g7, 3 element wont matter once it goes into the BE...just sayin.:D

And yeah Im for sure getting the BE, but there are a couple things that bother me about it: #1) It makes the laser look like a flashlight since the 10X BE is so huge. #2) The PL-E Pro is already 11" long and will be 14" long with the BE so thats a turn off for me. Anyway Im still getting the BE, but I wish itbwasntbso huge and I wish the PL-E Pro was shorter to start with.

HPO, members tend to like the the heft and size of high power units as it gives it a feel quality and good sinking, unless they choose something smaller for presentations or camping etc.
I have to ask with all due respect, are you wanting to conceal this unit for any reasons:) The size problem was an issue from day one.

Oh yeah i totally undertand that and no I have no reason to conceal it. Although small, high powered units are cool just because their is so much power in such a small little marker-sized laser (Like the challenger II from SanWu) I would prefer a heavy, very sturdy laser like the PL-E Pro. Having said that, there is a limit to how huge I would like it to be and 14" is pushing it. If I had the battery extender (which i have use if I plan on using 26650 batteries) and I use the BE on top of that Im looking at a 17" laser haha. What i was saying in my previous post is I wish JL integrated dual 26650s into 11" instead of having to use an extender. SanWu integrated dual 26650s into their Spiker AND that laser is a whole 3" shorter at 9". I am still getting the PL-E Pro since I like the black color over the SS in the Spiker plus the PL-E Pro has some very nice festures. I also have a huge amount of respect for Gray who ive been speaking with alot about future features and power outputs in their PL-E Pro.

A.) PL-E Pro series at 473/532/635/650/808/980/1064nm takes a single (1) 18650/26650(3.7v, fully chargable to 4.2V) or 5V AC in.

B.) PL-E Pro series at 405/445/465/520nm takes two(2) 16340/18650/26650s(each 3.7v, fully chargable to 4.2V) or 8V AC in.

If you want a smaller laser without the extensions pick one of the wavelenghts that require only 1 18650 or 26650 than pick one from A or 1 from B and use 2 X 16340 without any extension

If you don't mind the added length of the extension you can use 2X18650s or 2X26650s any model that requires 2 batteries .

Sounds like a good solution for longer battery life and run time if Gray confirms there is room for 2 X 26350 which will be 2mm longer than 2 X 16340and 5mm longer than 1 X 26650.
Be sure to ask Gray if there is enough room in the battery compartment for 2 X 26350 you have not already.

Will be very bright to the eye. The beam from a 465nm, 3.5W is 1.58 times as brighter than the lower output 465nm 1.4W offered by JetLasers and about the same brighness as a 500mW 532nm green, which is very bright.

Be sure to observe proper safety procedures and get a good pair of laser googles.

There are springs on the cap so 2mm shouldn't be a problem. And only as bright as a 500mW 532nm?? You sure?

"Only" as bright as 0.5W 532nm :crackup:. 0.5W of 532nm is past uncomfortably bright when looking at the dot. But yes, he's right.

Here's 0.5W of 532nm next to 30mW of 488nm which you can barely even see - it's just below the 532nm beam. No fog, just low lighting.

I have a 300mW green laser and from the pictires ive seen of 4W 465nm lasers it looks WAYYY brighter than what I have. Are we talking about the beam or dot? And ok how is that picture relevant to what we are talking about? Thats 30mw of 488nm....ill have 4,000mw of 465nm.
