G1/G2 Lenses

Where do the G1/G2 lenses come from?

Can they be harvested from sleds or projectors?
Were they specifically manufactured for use with laser diodes?
Or are they re-purposed optics from another industry?

I'm having a devil of a time finding out where they come from.

I spent several hours looking myself and found many companies that make the exact type of lenses we would want to use, but not the G lens. I did find the 9mm lens though. Min order 100.

I, too, have located places from which to buy. Some offer quantity discounts.

I'm very curious to understand more about these lenses, and where they are used in the industry.

Afaik the retailer/source of these specific G-n Lenses are Laser66, here's an ancient thread about it..

But i think they are for bare lenses and not inside the retainers/lens housing!
