EDIT: This laser is currently out for repairs pending a new driver. Not sure what happened, but the one in it seems to have gone kaput.
Hey guys, I'm selling my custom host 405 to get the cash together for a 1W 445.
A bit about the build:
This is an S06J diode powered at 428mA from a Mohgasm round driver. Diode is from DTR and has ~1-2 hour runtime on it. I do NOT have an LPM, so my output is an estimate based on the numbers I've seen from this diode. A few of those numbers are here: http://laserpointerforums.com/f38/12x-br-diodes-46798.html. I'm using a stock 3 element lens with the Moh focus adapter. I'm using a Mohgasm C6 aluminum heatsink (guess where I ordered the parts from
). I've used a copper sheath to fit it into the new host's head. Host is from an LED Lenser flashlight, and as far as I know, is one-of-a-kind. Everything is liberally stuck in place with thermal paste, then a bit of thermal compound here and there. It can be run for ~5 minutes at a time, and even then, it's the focus adapter that starts to heat up. Currently using a 3 element glass lens.
Takes 2x 16340's.
Host is Approximately 5 3/4 in long, and 1 1/4 in in diameter at the thickest part. Black with a silver stripe, and a holographic laser emission sticker stating wavelength at 405 and Max output at 700mW (in case I got a boss diode).
Pictures 'n' shit:
The package:
Warning Sticker:
Fully broken down:
From left to right: Head, Main body tube, battery holder (to stop any rattling), second body tube, tailcap.
The pill and driver set into the head.
There's a bit of wire laid in there to assist electrical contact.
Under the pill, the diode pressed into module set in heatsink:

Top view of the heatsink, no focus adapter:
Unfocused beam for profile:
Focused beam at 6 ft through goggles:
Verification:
A few comments about this thing:
I am not, by any means, a thoroughly experienced builder of lasers. That being said, I am used to electronics and computers, so I'm not a total noob. A few bits of this build may come off as jerry-rigged, but it works very well for me.
Pricing and Shipping:
I'm asking $120 shipped to the US. This is only ~$25-30 over what you'd pay building one of these for yourself, and in a unique host. IF you happen to have a new M140 445 diode sitting around, I'd give you a $55 credit for it, since that's part of what I'll be using the money for anyway
. I'd also be up for a trade for a complete 1,000+ mW 445; send me your offers and we'll see what happens.
I do not want to ship internationally at this time, due to the postal service screwing me over on my last deal, but if you're willing to pay for extra international charges, let me know where you are, and I'll send you a quote.
Yes/No's:
Burns through paper: Yes
Lights candles: No
Burns through a newspaper: Yes
Burns through plastics: Yes
Waterproof: No
Water Resistant (splashes, rain, ect): Mostly
Sexy: Yes
Batteries included: No
Charger included: No
Goggles included: No
Alright. I think I've covered just about everything. But please let me know if you have other questions, and I'll do everything I can to get you a satisfactory answer.
