Re: J.BAUER Electronics LaserBee 2.5 Watt USB only + Data Logging $119.99.. In Stock

You did not read the instructions correctly...
1) You need to let the head stabilize to the room temperature...
This may take 10 to 20 minutes..

2) DO NOT TOUCH THE THERMOPILE HEAD WITH YOUR FINGERS !!!

3) prepare to take a Laser Reading

4) press the RED button on the LaserBee 2.5W box...

5) click the [RUN] button on the Data Logging Software and shine
your Laser at the Thermopile Sensor at a distance of 6" to 12"...

Let me know how this works....

Jerry

Quoting the manual: Once set up press the PC data Logging screen and just before taking a reading press the RED button..
I still read it as i should pres the RED buttom after i start reading, but i will try the opposite now..

Quoting the manual: (3" to 12")

I didn't see the 10 to 20 min to stabilize, but seems to have done the trick.

Off course i haven't touched the Thermopile head!

Unfortunately any off the advise didn't improve my o like 400mW green laser torch /focusable/waterproof >350mw to peak over 283mw

Thanks for helping! :thanks:

You're welcome.....;)

What I was saying by "Once set up" is that once the drivers are installed
and the software started and is ready but before hitting the [run]button....

"just before taking a reading" you can not take a reading without 1st
clicking the [RUN] button...

So "just before taking a reading" and clicking the [RUN] button...
you would press the RED button....

You are correct in pointing out that it says 3" to 12" .... but the 6" to 12"
of distance is even better if you have a HOT laser host or very warm
hands since the Thermopile Sensor can detect that heat.

:cryyy:...Sorry that your LaserBee can't fix your Laser for you... It can only
show you the existing power of your Lasers....:)

Glad you got it solved....

I am enjoying having this unit. It is easy to use.

I do not have any way to empirically verify whether its calibration is right, but it definitely does not seem to have any consistent bias high or low.

Certain lasers that I expected to be over spec, it shows as over spec, in the range that other people have reported.

My > 1000 mW 445 registers only 980 mW, with somewhat depleted batteries.

So, I trust it, and I like it.

That's great to know.... I'm glad you like your LaserBee 2.5W USB LPM..

Here is a link of one review where daguin tested his LaserBee 2.5W
USB against his Scientech LPM....

:takeit::paypal:

So I know this isn't as sensitive as the other LaserBee products, but I can't find a single negative review about it. So it should make for a good starter LPM.
:thanks: Jerry

Yeah it would make a good starter LPM as would the
Alpha if you didn't need/want Data Logging...

BTW... it is as sensitive as all other LaserBee products....
The sensitivity is in the electronics ability to read small
sensor changes...as all the LaserBee products can..

It is just slower to show a final power reading like the
Alpha LPM because it uses a similar low cost sensor....
We have found a Sensor similar to the Alpha that has
a slightly faster response time. We have implemented
these since the 2nd Production run...

@ReaperZ.... so far I've seen these LPMs delivered as
fast as 5 days and as slow as almost 4 weeks...
Don't worry... there is insurance on your package...;)

@lasersbee

Any chance you can put my order on hold and send me one of the new version with a faster sensor?

If not I'm very sure I'll be happy with what you have now.

Always amazes me how much technology moves forward in a short span. I wanted to get into lasers a few years ago, but prices were astronomical at the time. Still high, but they have come down significantly in the past 1-2 years.

:beer:to hoping for more powerful lasers in a near future.

Btw, do you by any chance sell IR filters?

I'm not in the shop right now but I assume you placed an
order recently...

As I stated above the new Sensors have been implemented
since the 2nd Production Run... We are on our 3rd Production
run as of last Friday...;)

For IR filters I think MarioMaster Sells them... We only
concentrate on and sell LPMs... so no accessories at
the present time... sorry...:undecided:

Re: J.BAUER Electronics LaserBee 2.5 Watt USB only + Data Logging $119.99.. In Stock

@Jerry

Actually just placed it today, a few hours ago. Guessing the output finally drove me insane.

I'll get some IR filters from MarioMaster, to be honest, I only need one... I don't mind IR, just want to know what the non IR output of lasers is.

Thanks for the quick replies:)
