Flexdrive Q's: Somewhat urgent

I'm building a bluray, and I cannot figure out the polarity and set up: Would I connect just two wires to the "battery side" and have the diode arranged like this:

| Driver-------laser diode| Or two from the "battery side" and two to the "diode side" like this:

| -battery-----------Driver-----------------laserdiode|
Sorry if this is hard to see, but please help. The reason this is urgent is that I'm going to my cabin in an hour, and will be building it there.

two on battery side two on diode side.

You can get away with only one on the battery side if you are running the battery negative through the case.
