It still needs a little finishing work, but it's coming together nicely. Powered by a Lavadrive and a Ultrafire 14500 3.6v lithium battery. It's currently running at 100ma, and smokes dark colored stuff quite well.
The host is an old Maglight clone by Brinkman, but it has a nice clicky switch in the end cap.
I think the night mode on my camera phone does an extended exposure, hince the multiple dots. The beam isn't as bright as it looks here, but it is very visible in the dark.
And a couple shots of it going through some magnesium mineral oil that happened to be close by. Hard to tell from the pics, but the beam changes to a nice pale green color with little specks of violet when it hits a floating particle.
Beam reflecting off the surface of the oil.
