Hey everyone! I can now officially say I have a real build! Well.. half real.

My host is a piece of wood. ;)

Got the heatsink for cheap on ebay, ripped the other heatsink for the 317 off of an old rc car speed controller.

It is the diode from the LPC-815, driven at 400mA. No idea what its outputting at, other then awesome.

I'll be making a better driver (actually have one, but no test load for it), so prepare to see it improve. For now its just a bench laser.

I like those heatsinks. They look cool. What are you doing for a driver? Looks like an LM-317 and a resistor? I'm currently waiting on parts to rebuild my labby's driver as well. I'm not getting as many mA as you are though.

cool man

you should throw a fan on there and put it in a cool project box

lol, this isn't a permanent home for it. It'll look way cooler soon ;)

"My host is a piece of wood."

LOL, I love it! Seriously, good job. Any pics of it lasing?

Thanks! I have to go to New York today, but when I get back I'm sure I can take some pictures.

Anyway, I was toying around with the idea of 3D printing a host for it (I have a 3D printer), so I'll probably toss a 3D model on here and see if you guys see any issues with it before I make it.

Ah, from the pictures of those connectors you used I can tell that you are also into electric rc stuff. ;)

Haha, yeah. I grabbed those mini deans from the parts bin for my rc helicopter batteries, and the other plug from my scrap connectors bin.
