No problem. I wasn't meaning it offensively, I was just confused as to what you meant.

It's a completely different circuit and will not effect the driver. It is not A)drawing enough current for the battery to drop voltage from having a rather high internal resistance B) really connected to the driver in terms of system analysis.

I connected it in series, the LED is red. It is a 3v rated LED. But I used a resistor from an LED indicator from radioshack, and it seems to work fine
