This is my first 445. It was part of the group by a couple months ago for the waterproof BOB. Laser. I had it for about 3 weeks and it broke on me. But as you see it has all worked out thanks to all the help from rocket689!!! He provided me with a custom sink and endless modifications to the host.

I just received it monday. I had a custom painted ( laser blue) it's the color found on the chevy equanox. It looks excellent!!!!!

Thanks for lookin

Very nice :)

I recently sold a greenie in the same host to another member, but seeing this thread, almost regret it:p

Thanks man I love the custom paint. Coupled with the 445 power........this thing is at 1.5w with the waterproof cap off!!!!!!!! Besides my titanium benchmade butterfly knive.... it's like my favorite item I possess. LOL

Very nice for a first build!

Color matching hosts have their merits i suppose ;)

Yeah I guess it's being a blue laser with a blue host is kind of cheesy is in it!!!! Lol

I really love the paint job.

Did rocket do that for you, or you did it yourself?

How is the finish holding up?

I did not paint the host. He works at a collision repair center as a glass technician.
One of the auto painters there did it for him. ;)

I did machine the diode heatsink and removable driver sink, modify the host, build it and meter it for him. :)
I gotta say, it's one of my favorite builds and I know what I'm doing with my Yob GB 532 if it dies.

I had it a few weeks and fell in love with the thing.
445 is amazing underwater!

Here's some additional pics that I took of the build:

Sorry for the pile of pics.....

I'm glad you are enjoying it, Buddy!

The paint really looks like it adheres well. He must have prepped the surface really well first.

I agree ^^^. It can be difficult to get a nice finish with all of the knurling and such.
I wonder if he media blasted it first...

Yeah he knows what he's doing ( the painter and rocket) lol

Hell you should make about 10 of those rocket that group by went south They were junk. You did an excellent job on that he heat sink I put it back in after he painted it and it floats in because the tolerances are so close..... 2 thumbs up to anyone that needs any thing built go to rocket¡¡¡¡

Yeah I don't exactly know how he does the process of painting it but I would have to drop it to have any of the paint come off It's kind of soft for the first 2 days but after it completely cure is out it's hard as.......well a car's paint job lol

Very cool. I was just wondering about the paint, because... well let's face it, it would be AWESOME to have hosts match the wavelengths:p

That's what I was shooting 4 lol I would paint my little coleman laser red but??? I don't know it's not that impressive of a host I think it would be better to just polish it, I would like to polish it to a chrome finish at leave the little red circle around the clicky on the back but I don't know if I feel like doing all that

As far as the paint goes I don't think he media blast it or anything like that I think he preps it (light sand) primes it and then he paints with a water based paint. I could be wrong though I didn't ask him I was just so impressed with the finished product!!!!

This is my green laser I had him paint If anyone on this thread hasn't seen it before
