Finally finishing up my laser :) I just need to decide if I want to make a metal switch or use a rubber boot.

M140 diode, driven at 1.5A by a benboost driver.

Right now it has a brushed finish, but I think I might polish it up again.

That module needs to be fit properly into the host...The thermal connection between the module and host is basically nonexistent how you have it now, and with a high powered diode like an m140 putting out a lot of heat, it won't be good.

No...

I'm really bad at loosing the lasers I make...

It has a 3 layer glass lens

Great a 3-element! Me too!
Too bad mine is operating at probably around 800 mW instead of the 1W I was craving.:scowl:
Nice beamshot!
Do you need any cool names for it? I named mine 'Beast'.
[Once I get a G-2 lens I will call it 'Monster']

It definitly burns, even when not very focused. Once I get back to school I will see if I can run a couple on a CNC lathe. Right now I'm using a Hardinge HLV-H...

I might make another one this summer, stainless steel I'm leaning towards.

I wish I had a lathe with live tooling... I can do most things between a manual lathe and CNC 4 axis mill but.... live tooling lathe, one step and done.
