hey, i know some people arent to found of the "project box" lasers but i have just finished my first ever laser and just thaught i would share it with you lol,

i think it turned out great and a very tidy job!

BTW i baught my diode on the understanding it is capable of 150mW does anyone know the mA that it should be run at to get some good burning power out of it

yeah having great fun thanks and yeah most of the parts are from maplin, btw the switch does not light up, you can get them but i chose the one that doesnt light up for the simple reason it would drain my TINY 6V battery quickly lol

BTW do you know what mA it should be run at i dont have a clue lol

200mA? really depends on the diode, what type diode is it, open can, closed can, 16x, 22x, or what ?

My fist DIY (BR) was also in a box, in fact about the same size as yours.

i run my diodes around 150ma-200ma. u should build u a ddl driver with a pot then if its not enough power for u, u can always up it at any time sence its in a project box

FireMyLaser,  i am also making a blu ray and that may yet also be in a box

and

jake21,  it is a DDL driver lol or a lm317 i think

and i know some people arent as "keen" on the boxes so my bluray myt be in a flashlight but i like the boxes, there so "moddable" you can have what switch you want where you want not like pen style lasers!
