Finally, Diode Caps For Those Pesky "G-Ball" Diodes!

If it were indium the gball caps would likely fall off during the high heat extraction used to remove the diodes from the diode blocks and they don't. As you can see from my pictures there doesn't seem to be any residue left behind either.

Looks like indium but that's just my opinion and I expect the indium alloy that solders the can to the plate melts at a higher temp than the alloy that solders the plate to the block.


  • Soldering or fusing applications - alloys melt at temperatures ranging from 6.5°C to 310°C ( 44F to 590F )
