Faulty Security Switch? HELP ME

Anyone have any idea what is going on here. The security switch wasn't working so I tried bypassing it but when the connection is fully made it does nothing. Only when I flicker the connection does the laser work. Anyone have an idea as to what is wrong here?

Maybe try testing for continuity in the entire interlock circuit - I've had wire break inside the insulation before. Can be a real pain to trace. Also there might be a loose connection somewhere else that you wiggle when moving the wires on the keyswitch - causing the intermediate connection :-/

I think there might be something inside the switch that allows the laser to operate. Bypassing the switch doesn't work. Everything else is in the projector is connected properly. I need to dissect the switch if I can figure out a way to get it out of the side of the projector.

just take it out and bypass it should not be anything special in there

Maybe it's a normally-closed switch, and the laser only works when there's *no* connection... maybe try cutting the leads to it...?
