Fake decoy

I want to make a decoy that looks like a DX greenie and weighs like a DX greenie but isn't actually a laser at all. My idea is to take a similar diameter pen, put some metal objects inside, use the bottom half of an aixiz module I had lying around to be the 'aperture', and cover it in black electrical tape. Then for some of the silver trim I could use a silver ink pen to draw on the electrical tape. It should look similar at a glance.

I was thinking of using this so no one steals it.

Any ideas?

Someone trying to steal it would obviously check to see if it wasn't a normal pen or anything, since they look very similar, and since this wouldn't work then they'd just leave it

Just keep the batteries separated when your not using it. So if they are going to steal it they would see if it works, and if there are no batteries in it, it won't work!
