no the viper doesnt have a safety key
but asides from the safety key add on they are the same exact laser from the same company

just different distributors

I think the safety key thingie is a great add-on....I WILL order one soon - just trying to figure out if I am going to order a laser at the same time, I am REALLY happy with the
X-85......maybe more accessories....Hmmmmmmmm

Naturaly, If you want a 5% discount - you would enter that code at check out with Nova - it depends on your budget - they are essentially the same laser - the Nova comes with a possibility of a slew of accessories.....and a really durable case !
