Okay, i used to have internet explorer and it was quite slow loading most things so i switched to firefox after i heard all the good things about it and it did load things quite faster until i heard about opera :o.  I tried it out and i thought something was wrong, it would load this page in a few second about twice as fast as firefox and every single thing is now faster, i even prefer the look of it better, it has just been the greatest internet browser i have tried to date.
Im still amazed at how fast it loads everything.

Lol i told ya, i dont know why everyone is saying firefox is the best when opera is like twice as fast and still has all the features :o

I'm using it right now and it is really fast, but I'm not sure if I'll like using its interface (compared to FF)... I guess I'll try to experiment with it for a while.

I think it looks better then firefox, it comes with more things to do and some preloaded skins to choose from.

Haha, I JUST switched to Firefox after everybody was telling me to do it. I did, and I installed adblock and I love it! Now, there are little gaps between some posts because of the adblock blocking the google ads. It's gonna take a while before I switch to another browser! Is there adblock in Opera?

Opera seems to be lacking in the flash video playback... it's the ONLY drawback I've seen yet, it just can't handle many open youtube videos as well as my Internet Explorer can. the playback is choppy and skips every now and then.

however, Opera is supremely faster at everything else that doesn't involve lots of java or actionscript.

I suggest you verify your java and flash are up to date and ensure your ram usage in the task manager are not exceeding your physical ram installed thus using the hard drive as extended ram. Opera works fine for me in video streams.

Normally I would agree with you on checking those, but I can go to my IE right after and watch the same videos smoothly, no problems switching between videos. Switch to Opera and it's just not smooth.

Sorry to hear that, i do notice that opera uses a bit more ram then mozilla to run a single similar web page I frequent, but it runs fine. Interestingly enough tho is the fact that all browsers consume and fail to release ram completely and if i happen to use all 3 at once versus opening the same amount of pages in a single instance in one browser that the combined total of ram is more. Once i exceed the 1 gig i have, everything starts to crawl until i do an "end task" or "end process tree" on the browsers and get the ram back or "reboot".

It works fine for me too, try installing the new version of flash, that is what i had to do... and the good thing is you can have like 80 tabs open and it still wont slow it down much, that would be instant death for internet explorer or even firefox.

I actually really like it. I found different interfaces that suit me. Also, the Speed Dial thing is cool.

Speaking of RAM, I just recently added 2 1-gig sticks of DDR DIMM to my other 2 1-gig sticks. So it SHOULD read as ~4gig but it only reads as 2.87 gigs. >:( Ideas?

I do think Opera seems to be a lot faster though... I also really like the tabbing system, for example. how it saves all the pages that were on there last. It's great for ongoing projects w/o having to save them. Also, I like the side panel system... showing Transfers, Page Info, etc.
