I'm curious if any of y'all are into the electric bicycle scene? I've ridden one before in Costa Rica and it was amazing. I'm building my own currently, just waiting some some more parts in the mail coming from China.

I'm building a 72V 1.5kW rear hub motor on a 26" mountain bike. Using 20s2p 5Ah batteries. Should be able to go around 45 mph for 30 or so miles till needing a fresh charge (for nearly free!)

Here's my parts that I'm getting, around $800 or so. Endless-sphere.com ? View topic - Build thread - 26" MTB rear 1kW hub, 72V 1.5kW controller

Will be commuting back and forth to work which will be both fun and a huge $ saver compared to my big truck gas guzzler.

I'm making myself a 400W electric mountainboard, I've considered making an ebike after I'm done.

How fast will 1.5kW get you going?

acceleration will be ridiculous.. as fast or faster than cars. especially if I mod the controller to bump up the amps.

Hey Kendal.....

Nice to see you back on the Forum. I haven't seen
you post here since Last year.

Not sure if you are aware. The R/C Li-Po batteries
should be stored uncharged at 3.7-3.8V per cell.
If you leave them too long fully charged they will
out gas and puff up.
They will also out gas and puff up if they are discharged
too low. I use 3.3V as my low end then charge up to
the storage voltage after they have cooled down.

Don't forget to show us a video of the Bike working
when you are done..
