ebay "super overspecs" XD

Actually use leather, like a pants belt. Rap it around it once, grab it with a good set of pliers, then wiggle back and forth while pulling. Do NOT twist it. Once you get the cap off you'll see the lens with a slot on both sides. Use a screwdriver to turn the lens to focus. Make sure you dont scratch the lens.

To be honest this would be the only laser you could pot mod, but you would need to pull the module and put a meter on the driver outputs. You should be able to bring it up to 100mW without issue. More than likely its a PHR diode.

Nah, the beam isn't visible. That's because the human eye doesn't see 405nm as bright as (for example) 532nm.
Even in complete darkness, I still can't see a bit of the beam.

Thank you, I'll try tomorrow :)

PS. Good thing I wear contact lenses with UV filters :P

Au Contraire! here's my eBay pen. Just get some fog and long exposure!

Do you think they really use PHRs? That'd be really cool if they did. if so then maybe someone would get a super freak diode that could be pushed REALLY far

Actually I had bad batteries in it when I tried it in the dark. With new, full batteries I can see the beam a bit at full darkness.

They bin the modules in these cheap lasers. So you can get anywhere form 10mW-50mW from a cheap 5mW laser. But when they get above that they get binned for higher power lasers. So basically there is a good chance you'll get <50mW buying a 5mW laser, but there is only a slim chance you'll get a >50mW for the price of the 5mW laser.

this.

So, I managed to get the cap off using a vice (and a cloth) :)

But I can't seem te get the lens adjust. I tried turning it with a bend paperclip, but it won't move. Any advise?

It probably has some silicone or light locktight on it.

Does it have groves on the sides of the lens?

A picture would help.

Take an X-Acto and chip off the glue. Then get a pair of small needle nose pliers and put the tips in the holes, and twist left. It should back out.

Thank you so much!

It worked, turned the lens a bit counter clockwise and it's focused now :D
So, I can burn stuff without having to use that magnifying glass everytime :p

Conclusion: Lasers from Valueoffer (http://stores.ebay.com/valueoffer) are a must-buy :D Very cheap.

Good, glad to here it.

Yeah for the price these cant be beat. The are cheap enough to experiment with too. I have one myself, but the diode window is loose.

But Could i just buy the 100mW cheap DX module that outputs about 80mW adn focus it like Compizfox ? i saw on the pics that they are the same basics.
