Hi, I just bought one new SDlaser 301 from dx and it seems that it is mode hopping. changing from 1 beam to 2 weaker beams. It seems to happen at any temperature, cold or hot. sometimes happen sometimes dont. Is there a easy way to fix? I mean, if i try open the housing it may break. If so i might sell this one then buy another...

Common for cheap greens. Not really a whole lot you can do to fix it that wouldn't just most likely just break it completely.

Make sure you have some good batteries. Overvoltage causes faster heating that can cause mode hopping. Do you have a multimeter to measure the current of your batteries?

I've never had any kinds of problem with my unit. Maybe just bad luck =(
