Got my order from Dx Today Romisen L-B030 30mw Green. The unit is lighter than I expected , the only O-Ring that was lubricated was the one on the battery cap, so I promptly lubricated all of them. Nice little Laser GITD tailcap is sweet, the switch is on after the release not on the push and it also is not momentary very nice indeed.
As for power dropped a 3v cr123 in and it seemed less powerful than my dx true 30mw but worked fine none the less beam wasn't very visible in light, but bright enough anyway. Pulled it apart after 5 minutes and cranked the pot up (after moving some of the green goop off of it) Hell of a diff much brighter beam very visible.
After the pot mod it's worth keeping. The Glass on the front doesn't seem to affect the beam at all. All in all a good buy for what I paid.

I tried to pot mod mine all it did was put it to Tem01 you got lucky  :)
I actually cranked the por all the way and still one dot on the wall I keep reading to shine it through a lens to see if it mode hops can someone explain better what it is I will see and how and with what kind of lens to do this. What voltage did you try your pot mod at? Maybe it was more than 3v?

These lasers are very oddly put together. I have no idea, how they align the crystals with the pump diode at all, since there is no collimating lense in between.

I have a DX200, that was mode hopping.. When it does this, the beam slowly starts splitting in two. At first, it looks as if it is just wider from one side. Then they split completelly..

Look at the pic, to see how this looks like. On the left is what it should look like from all sides, on the right you can see two beams.

This effect wasn't necesarily visible in the spot, but when it split, the beam and the spot became noticably dimmer, since the power distributed itself between the beams.

Of course you need some smoke or fog to see the beams at all.

Otherwise, just shine it through a magnifying glass, and if it is mode hopping, you will most likely see it split into two spots very soon after power on.

Any updates? How is the laser working?

Still going strong I really like this laser, the only downside that i noticed last night for the first time is that there is a bit of scatter probably caused by the glass lens but the actual beam and dot are strong. as soon as i get some time i will try and take some photos.
