i got this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.5914 the other day... 3 of em... but when i opened it up... it looked like this http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13378... the small circut board.... did they change the design? i think the old one was better... hard to switch diodes with the 1s i got... kinda pissed... cuz i thought theyd control the power going to my dvd burner diodes... but nooo... i burnt out 2 of my diodes... idk what to do my diodes r dim... does that mean their done or can i do anything

I'm not sure what you're saying. Are you mad because it's harder to put the DVD burner diode into the new module? If that is the case, I understand that complaint. Plus, the ones you got are worth less money.

Are you saying you used the driver/circuit board from this module to power your DVD burner diode? And when doing that, your diode is dim? Yeah, that would make perfect sense, since that driver will only give a very low current to the diode.

Which is the case?

Yeah what pullbangdead said.

you got ripped off by DX those are much worse then aixiz style ones, I would ask for a refund I am sure they will oblige if you send a picture, just make sure you contact through account tickets instead of email.

A dim laser diode usually (most of the time) means that is ledified, but this usually occurs at higher currents, static dischrage etc. If you are using the drivers that came with the modules then there is a chance that the diodes are still ok, you should contact rckstr or drlava for a true laser diode driver, if you are not sure of how to et current perhaps one of rckstrs set current drivers (250ma) would be ideal for your laser diodes plus would provide a very long lifespan for your diode

Thanks

yeah that driver will not work with your diodes hopefully it is just giving it very little power.

and contact dx they will make it right.
