DX 5mw Blu-ray---Any Good?

simple question: is this laser any good?

DealExtreme: $22.11 5mW 405nm Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Pen (2*AAA)

I know Blu-rays aren't bright or anything - but would i be able to write on glow in the dark stuff with it? Thanks.

Yeah you can write on GITD stuff with it. You should check out the Ebay 5mW laser. they are like 11$ and a fellow LPFer jsut got 5 of them and most were around 50mW!

I would get a 50mw, but i prefer lasers as a toy. I get really nervous when a laser could instantly blind me. I'm an artist, i need my eyes...lol

It's possible that the DX laser is overspec and dangerous also.

It's highly probable that DX's 5mw offering is dangerously overspec.

True <5mw lasers are very rare.
