DX 50mw turned into Infrared burner pics & video

Hi i decided to try making my laser IR because i wannted to see how it will burn
here is a pic of the crystal set  and the laser

video coming later because im charging the batteries :D it burns well :) but cannot be collimated . I see fainth red dot on 25 cm after that it becomes huge :)
its great because i can make it green verry verry easy . i just put the crystal set and i have a green beam

I hope you are wearing IR blocking goggles when doing this. That little dot is around 500mw of 808nm :o

im not wearing glasses because i dont have . and i dont thing that its 500 mw maybe 200 max because it cant light a red match doesnt even smoke it :-?

The IR won't burn as well as 500mw of green because it isn't as focused. Btw DO NOT use this without IR blocking goggles. They put IR filters on lasers for a reason. The problem with IR is the fact that it doesn't trigger any of your eyes natural aversion responses so you can actually stare right into it without noticing anything wrong until you go blind. Looking at that tiny red dot is just like looking at the dot from any other color on the wall.

thank you, i know about the dangers thats the reason im scared to use it i try to be verry carefull with this laser :)

the next step will be making it open can that will make it more powerfull riGHT?

The next step is buying IR goggles before you blind yourself.
