DX 50mW laser

I recently bought this laser:
10050110W 50mW 650nm Red Light Laser Diode - Golden (3V) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme

How can I test if its really 50mW (is there something that will only burn if its 50mw)?
Also, can someone link me to a laser goggle for this wavelength?

Is it safe to test the laser by pointing it to a wall while I don't get the goggles or is the reflecting light also bad for the eyes?

It says "power <20ma" so I doubt it will be 50mw. No way to tell unless it is measured by an LPM. IMO this is not worth it for a $3 laser module.

If it even puts out 10mw you should be happy.

No, the reflecting light won't cause any damage.

Ummmmm, don't listen to him. Your laser is 650nm, a red color, and is not covered by the goggles he told you. Look for that same brand but get a pair that covers 650nm.

But he is right in that the reflection off of a wall will not hurt your eyes.

So these: Eagle Pair® 190-400nm & 580-760nm Laser Safety Goggles then?

And how can I test its strength without a LPM? Will it only cut through tape if its <30mw?

Yes those glasses are good I have a pair myself.
As for the power,you can't know without an lpm. A burn test alone can't determine power because there are to many variables like focus, distance,or atmospheric conditions.

Those little 3V red modules are 5mW max. No way that one will be anything more than 5mW...
