hi,i'm from Greece

i want to tell me how to do a dvd laser burner.

i saw some videos about that.

the only thing that i want is?
a)a simple 16x dvd laser
b)a maglite
c) batteries 2 AA.
is that right?

i read something about driver circuit.what is this?is it a base for the laser?

can you tell me how to do this and if you can step by step???????

in Greece i can't order Sony SLD1236VL 16x laser or something similar to that.they don't sell such things.i also read about mw!!! what is that?

sorry for my english!

thank you very much all

the question is can i connect directly the laser to the batteries?or it's an other way to do that

You can connect it directly but it's not recommended, it might kill your diode instantly or shorten it's lifetime. The best way to do it is using a proper driver.Check out the experiments and mods section to learn how to make one, or the buy, sell & trade section to buy one.

I went to Greece(Halkidiki) last summer :D I stabbed a guy in the leg. :P I hope it wasn't you

no it wasn't me. :D :D ;)
.ok i'm going to look at mods section now.
after i make the proper driver whats my next step?
thank you very much.

Well next, you need to connect the diode to the driver, and the driver to batteries.Look at the DIY Laser Driver Circuit thread, it's a nice step by step tutorial.AND you will also need a heatsink and a focusing lens. Most people just use aixiz modules for that(though it's recomended you use an additional, bigger heatsink aswell because the aixiz kinda limits your duty cycle)

I'm glad it wasn't you or anyone you know, him and his gang were real A-holes :P

guys i look to buy proper driver from Greece but no one sells something like that!!!!

we only love sea here!!!!

what i should do now :(

what is heatsink or aixiz modules and where i can find focusing lens?i can't find them from Greece

You will have to buy the aixiz module online here or here. And don't worry, they include the lens. You can always ,with a little work and machining tools(if you have access) adapt a lens from a cheap red laser keychain to your diode. As for the driver you only need some common components that you can probably pick up at any electronics store, soldering tools and some soldering skills, and just follow the step by step tutorial.

Get a dorcy flashlight here and a diode pre-installed in an aixiz housing here. (they ship worldwide)
The dorcy flashlight already has a driver, so you don't need to build one, just add a resistor.
Look at this thread for instructions on how to build the laser.
And here's a video tutorial.
