Hello, I have a laser as the title. Piloted by drivers Dr.lava.
I built a circuit with integrated NE555. to convert the TTL signal in pulsed.
I wonder if a cycle of 30 sec on and 1 second off, extending the life of the laser in continuous use for 30 min. Or should I set a course of 3 seconds on and off 0.5sec? Accepted tips, drivers can be programmed.
I use the laser to cut cardboard and wood, using cnc pantograph. then I need to keep the laser on for a long time (at least 30min). what cycle do you recommend? That does not lower the laser power to be cut.
Thx at all

The exact timing doesnt matter much, as long as the duty cycle remains the same.

If it works for 3 seconds on and 0.5 seconds off, it would only require a minute improvement in cooling to be able to run it continously.

You can always compensate with better optics and
lower current to the LD..

A glass aspheric collimating lens will make a good amount
of difference.

The idea being the same output power with less stress..

hi, i use a big lab heatsink to cool it. 1.8"*1.8"*1.8" cube.
I just have a glass lens on it, as they say, power is never enough.
30 sec on and 1 off is inconclusive for the life of the laser used continuously for 30 minutes?
I know that used pulsed burning has less power, is not it?
thx at all

With a heatsink that size, i think it should be able to run CW easily.
