Firstly I don't know if there really is a section to post this project in?
Just a fun little project I put together in an evening. I found an old camcorder viewfinder CRT laying around in my "junkbox" so I thought I'd try to adapt it to my soundcard DAC.
First thing I did was finding out power leads, that wasn't so difficult since the leads from camera came colour coded. (black for ground and red for +8V)
Then I located horisontal and vertical deflection coils and connected x and y from DAC appropriately.
Next thing I did was finding what was controlling brightness on electron gun and then connect that to blanking on soundcard DAC.
Here's some video proof, not so good quality since my old camera isn't so good at macro filming...
Only possible application I can see this "thing" used in is checking output signals from DAC, besides that it's just a fun thing to watch...
